The agriculture sector is one of the more important economic drivers for ECER. One of its primary targets is to increase local production and to reduce reliance on imports of crop-based products, livestock and fish.

The bustle of agriculture-related activities in ECER will benefit many. These benefits will include:

  • Increasing the income of farmers & fishermen who are mainly in the poverty group

  • Providing opportunities for employment

  • Increasing fruit and vegetables production for fresh markets as well as processing for local and export markets
